Margie June Moser was born July 20, 1938, to Flora Lorine Mitchell and John Walter Moser in Valliant, OK. After a lengthy illness, she died at home in Yukon on January 26, 2012. As the eldest daughter of 9 children, Margie helped raise her younger brothers and sisters. At the age of 16, Margie met JD Stahlman, and they were married on October 1, 1955. This 56 year marriage of love and devotion produced 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Margie was a homemaker and raised her children until she began working at Plaza Dry Cleaners in Bartlesville in 1978. Margie also sold Avon and babysat. She worked at DiMaggio's Dry Cleaners in Edmond and Gene's Dry Cleaners in Yukon.
She was a member of the Watonga Chapter 83 of the Order of the Eastern Stars. An avid, lifelong reader, she was active in promoting the public libraries wherever she lived. She volunteered as a Certified Children's Vision Screener for Prevent Blindness Oklahoma. She was an avid bowler and scorer for the bowling tournaments. Margie was a supporter of school activities who volunteered to drive Head Start students on field trips. She was a member of the Ponca City Booster Club. Before her illness, Margie had donated an estimated 15 gallons of blood. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, attending Bluegrass festivals, traveling to historic places, flea markets, and yard sales. She would go anywhere, anytime to watch her children or grandchildren participate in an activity. You name it, she was there. Be it football, basketball, band concerts, school plays, karate tournaments or track meets, Margie was there, cheering them on. She would drag JD four hours in the pouring rain to eat a cold hamburger to watch a game of tiddlywinks or hopscotch if one of her grandchildren was involved.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Flora Moser and two brothers Jack and Joe Moser.
She is survived by husband, JD Stahlman, of the home, children Debra Kreger of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Garry Stahlman and wife Betsy of Richardson, Texas; Melonie Zincke and husband Mike of Claremore, Oklahoma; foster daughter Brenda Jacoby of Allen, Texas; and LuAnn O'Hair and husband Nelse of Laverne, Oklahoma, grandchildren David Kreger and wife Amanda, John Kreger, Steele (Little Boy) Waldrop, Renee Stahlman, JoAnna Stahlman, Jacque Stahlman, Biljana Stankovic, Kristin Stahlman, Amber Zincke, Kacie O'Hair, Noah O'Hair and Melody Seebeck, great-granddaughter Kaitlynn Kreger; brother Odell Moser; sisters Verdia Bray, Vada Volcy, Vida Winters, Margaret Gray, and Jeannie Scott, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a mulitude of friends. A fabulous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margie will be remembered as a smart, funny, kind woman who was always good for a hug.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Yanda & Son Chapel. Interment will follow at Niles Cemetery near Hinton.
