Beauford Jay Quisenberry

Beauford Jay (B.J.) Quisenberry went home to his Lord on Monday, January 2, 2023.  He was born to John and Gladys Quisenberry on April 25, 1929 in Okeene, OK.  He and his two brothers, Jess and Joe, grew up in Fresno, California until 1943 when they returned to Blaine County, Oklahoma.  B.J. graduated high school from Hitchcock, OK, and joined the US Navy in 1954. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida and NAS Agana, Guam and served as a First Class Aviation Structural Mechanic on Super Constellation planes until discharge in 1958.  B.J. married Raylene, the love of his life, and started sharing all things they both loved from raising children to traveling from the east coast to the west coast and all states in between, and Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico, to spending their winters on South Padre Island.  They farmed and ranched on the family farm northwest of Watonga, OK, that was purchased by his father in 1927.  He also worked for USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for many years until they moved to Yukon, OK, in 2005.  He immediately joined the coffee group that meets at McDonalds every day and enjoyed many years of friendship and shared experiences with them.  B.J. was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed his church family.  B.J. and Raylene are blessed to have five children, Bill, Larry, Kevin, Debbie and Kim.  They have 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

B.J. is preceded in death by his parents and both brothers.  He is survived by his wife and children, Bill and Jenny Quisenberry of Amarillo, TX, Larry and Cindy Quisenberry of Florence, TX, Kevin Dill of Richmond, VA, Debbie and Mich Wynne of Amarillo, TX, and Kim and Steve Pankratz of Yukon, OK.  He also felt so blessed to be survived by all his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in memory of B.J. Quisenberry.

Viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral service which will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church, Yukon, OK, with interment following at 2:30 p.m., at Watonga IOOF Cemetery, Watonga, OK.
