Ben Jess Lawless

Ben Jess Lawless, of Crescent, OK, passed away December 19, 2022. He was born to Frank and Dora Lawless October 3, 1936 in Lookeba, OK. Ben graduated from El Reno High School before joining the United States Army to serve his country. After the Army, he worked for Climax in Colorado eventually moving back to Oklahoma where he worked with his brother at Aero Meridian.

On July 2, 1970, Ben married Marie, the love of his life, and together they settled in Yukon, OK. He helped her with her pride and joys, forever calling them his own. He was an amazing husband, daddy, granddaddy, great grandpappy, uncle, cousin and friend.

Once all the chitlins had left the nest, he and Marie moved to a farm in Calumet where he worked as a farm hand for an old buddy from elementary school. After Marie's death, he stayed in Calumet a short time before moving to Crescent to live with his youngest Pride and Joy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Lawless; eldest pride and joy and fishing buddy, Steve Grube; son-in-law, Les McNiff; former son-in-law, Eddie Johnson; brothers, Clyde, Roy and Melvin Lawless; sisters, Iva Benjamin and Alma Moberly, and his parents, Frank and Dora Lawless.

Ben is survived by his pride and joys, Connie Grube, Bruce Grube and wife Anja, Connie McNiff, Anita Storlie and husband Jonathan, Brian Grube and wife Debbie, Cecila Harroald and partner Noel Watkins, and Shannon Wiebelt and husband Bob; brothers, Dale and Bob Lawless, as well as many grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.

A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
