Benny Harlan Huggins

Benny Harlan Huggins, born January 17, 1946 in Hollis Oklahoma, went home to his Heavenly Father on June 23, 2025.

Benny was born to Daniel Wilson and Minnie Grace Huggins and was raised in Bryson, Texas by his loving grandmother.  He graduated from Bryson High School in 1964 and often revisited his Alma Mater, many years after graduation, to attend the annual Halloween Festival where he was once elected as Homecoming King.  Upon graduation, Benny enlisted in the US Navy and spent time as a helicopter mechanic. After discharging from the Navy, he worked for 7 years in Vietnam as a mechanic.

Upon returning home, Benny began his career with Haliburton and worked in many places including offshore oil.  He soon met and married the love of his life, Stephanie "Ann", on August 22, 1979, which also happens to be her birthday. She had 5 children from a previous marriage, and he unconditionally loved these children as if they were his own, not having ever had any biological children of his own. Together, they did a lot of traveling and lived briefly in Singapore in the early 1980's. He eventually retired from Halliburton after 25 years.

Benny and Ann spent most of their married life in Texas before moving to Mustang, Oklahoma in 2014, to be closer to family and eventually became members of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.  In his spare time, Benny loved tinkering in his garage, listening to music of all kinds, but especially loved ABBA. Benny was a generous soul and would give the shirt off his back. He was passionate about a garage or yard sale and never missed a one, if he could help it.  He loved his family more than anything in the world but especially loved his great grandkids, who gave him the most joy. He always wanted to hear stories about how they were doing, looked forward to surprise visits and was sure to attend every holiday so he could be around them. They will miss their "Papa" so much and he will be missed by so many others, especially his wife Ann, who never spent a day away from him since they married.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Ann, daughters, Audra O'Hern and husband Thomas of Mustang, Beth Meador and husband Mike of Eufaula and son, Todd Ryan and wife Sheryl of Texas; grandchildren: Haley Hale (Aubrey), Ryan O'Hern (Shelby), Kiley Andrews (Kyle), Kelsey Cole (Nate), Alton Wright (Tiffany), Chip Davidson (Nicole), Jessica Green, Jerrod Davidson (Adriane), Nick Fulkerson (Audrey), Breck Ryan (Aubrie), Chandler Ryan, Justin Ryan (Chrissy); 23 great-grandchildren, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; son Kelly Ryan; daughter Rhonda Fulkerson, and son-in-law, Dale Fulkerson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 30th at 10:00 AM in the chapel at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, 600 Garth Brooks Blvd., followed by a meal for family and friends in Marian Hall.
