Beverly Jeanne Miller

Beverly Wiedemann Miller, age 89, passed away on December 26, 2024. She was born on June 29, 1935, in Piedmont, Oklahoma, to Dick and Elsie Wiedemann. Beverly's childhood was filled with fond memories of horseback riding and participating in local round-up competitions with her beloved horse, Babe, alongside her cousins. She was also a standout basketball player in high school, earning respect for her athleticism and determination.

A proud graduate of Piedmont High School, Beverly married Earnest Miller on her 18th birthday, beginning a lifelong partnership that spanned 71 years. The couple moved to Tulsa, where Beverly worked for Mr. Tandy, founder of Tandy Leather and Tandy Electronics. After returning to Piedmont, she worked at the family grocery store and later at M&W Propane Company. In 1973, Beverly and Earnest relocated to Chandler to pursue farming, where she became deeply involved in her community.

Beverly had a successful career in bookkeeping, retiring from Chandler Farm Store at the age of 81. In 2021, Beverly and Earnest moved to northwest Oklahoma City to be closer to their family. Throughout her life, Beverly enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and completing jigsaw puzzles. She also loved helping others and was known for her generous spirit. Before her move to Oklahoma City, she was an active member of the Friends Church in Chandler.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Elsie Wiedemann, her brother Leslie Wiedemann, and her son, William "Billy" Miller.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Earnest Miller; daughters Teresa Porta and Rhonda Heard; sister Mary Anduss; sister-in-law Joyce Wiedemann; one grandson; three granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate Beverly's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma, with interment following at Mathewson Cemetery in Piedmont, Oklahoma.
