Buel Hoar

Stanley "Buel" Hoar of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on April 30, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1939, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Ord and Dovie (Hildebrand) Hoar.

Buel graduated from Greenfield High School. He spent most of his career as a livestock order buyer. He had customers all across the country who became cherished friends. He also owned and operated Perkins Livestock Sales in Perkins, Oklahoma. Buel helped to develop several housing developments around the Piedmont area through the years. He served the Piedmont community on the school board, city council, and numerous other  committees. Even though Buel was not a veteran, he helped establish the Piedmont Area Veterans Association to honor his friends that served.

Buel is survived by his wife Janet Hoar; two sons Stanley Hoar of Watonga and Steele Hoar of Piedmont; daughters Janet Taylor and husband Mark of Watonga and Angela Sewell and husband Jason of Piedmont; grandchildren Kalen Taylor, Emily Quimby and husband Jeremy, Ty Hoar and wife Sara, Chance Hoar, Lorelei Sewell, Locklan Sewell, Stone Hoar, Slaton Hoar and Shevlin Hoar; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law Nova Hoar of Greenfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and Andy Logan, his wife Allison, and their children Jake and Callie who have always been a large part of our family. Buel was preceded in death by his parents Ord and Dovie Hoar, sisters Eva, Harriett, Laura, Irene and Evelyn; and brother Kay Hoar.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Soldier Creek Church of Christ in Piedmont, OK. Interment will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont, OK.
