Carolyn Marie Schwartz

Carolyn Marie (Menz) Schwartz passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on February 6, 1936 in a farm house east of Union City, OK.  She attended grade school at St. Joseph's school in Union City, high school at Mt. St. Mary's in Oklahoma City, and college at Benedictine College in Atchison Kansas.

Carolyn met her husband John at Benedictine College and they married April 2, 1956 in Union City. After their marriage they resided in Augusta, Kansas for 5 years, later raising their family in Oklahoma City, followed by a move to Muskogee, OK in 1988, then Yukon, OK in 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Cerny and her husband, Bill, of Oklahoma City, and sons, John Schwartz of Cashion, and Edward Schwartz and his wife Brenda of Meeker. Carolyn is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Theresa Ramage of Yukon, and brother, David Menz of Yukon.

Carolyn retired from Sears in Oklahoma City in 1987. In Muskogee Carolyn was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, New Friends of Muskogee, and the Muskogee Area Quilters Guild. While living in Yukon Carolyn was a member of Grace Church – Episcopal, and the Central Oklahoma Quilters Guild. Carolyn enjoyed reading, quilting, fishing, her grandchildren, traveling, and her friends at Southern Plaza Assisted Living.

Viewing will be held 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, at Grace Church-Episcopal, Yukon, OK, with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
