Carson Wylie Cantrell

Carson "Wylie" Cantrell, 21, of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away November 19th, 2023. He was born December 28, 2001 in Ardmore, OK.

Wylie loved life, his family and friends. Wylie a.k.a. "Maui" had a huge passion for making and enjoying music. He was so talented. He loved fishing and loved to be outside, as well as boxing and gaming. Wylie would always be considered best dressed with his elaborate and ever-changing clothing, shoe, and accessory collection. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Wylie loved all sorts of movies, tv, shows, games, and anime. He could talk to you about the ins and outs of anything entertaining. He collected cards of all types and Funko Pops (in addition to his shoe collection, cannot stress the shoe collection enough). He had a passion for life and cared deeply about anyone and everyone he met or even strangers. He would do anything for anyone, he was completely selfless, big-hearted, and kind. Wylie had a beautiful heart and soul; he had a smile that would light up the room. He loved being around kids, especially his Niece Atlas "Attie Ray" Howard. Wylie always loved his animals, especially his best friend Goku, a Mini Bernedoodle who joined him in his journey of life this past year and even got to visit him as a support animal at both OU and MD Anderson.

Wylie was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL), a very aggressive blood cancer, in February of 2022. He immediately began treatment at OU Medical Center, went into remission, and was fortunate to receive the amazing gift of a Bone Marrow Transplant in September 2022, all thanks to his Little Brother Chase Cantrell. In 2023, after complications, Wylie began treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Ultimately, he passed due to these complications. Wylie and his family and friends are extremely grateful for all the care they all received at OU and MD Anderson and encourage everyone to consider becoming a blood donor in his honor.

Wylie was preceded in death by his Papa Garth "Les" Ashley; grandmother Nettie Newman; great-grandmother Billie Sue Wooten; great-grandma Josephine Cantrell, and uncle Adam Waltz.

He is survived by parents Chris and Kelli Cantrell; grandmother Anita Ashley, brothers: Wes Cantrell, Chase Cantrell and Justin Thrash; aunt and uncle Mary and Lyndal Butler; aunt Chanda Ashley; uncle Bob Newman; cousins: Madison Ashley, Jaycea Ashley,  JJ Ashley, Ross and Katilyn Davis, Dalton and Hollie Davis; girlfriend Skyra Summers, and his best friend Kylor Johnson.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK, with graveside services at 3:00 p.m., at Provence Cemetery, Ardmore, OK.
