Charles Norman Blacklee

In loving memory of Norman and Carole Blacklee, who proved love knows no bounds. They celebrated 64 years of marriage, leaving an indelible mark on everyone they touched. Their unwavering devotion to each other inspired all. Through the joys and challenges, their love blossomed and strengthened.

Charles Norman Blacklee, 88, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug 1, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He died at his home surrounded by his loving family. Norman was born on June 21, 1935, to Charles and Emma Blacklee in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. After Norman graduated from High School in Calgary, he studied Engineering and Geology at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University. After graduating, he worked as a Traffic Engineer at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Mary Carole Rice Blacklee, 89, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug 3, 2023, after a battle with diabetic complications and pancreatic cancer. She died surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born on December 22, 1933, to Wayne & Beatrice Rice in Lackawanna, New York. After graduating from Hennessey High School, Carole graduated with a Sociology degree from Central State University.

Norman and Carole met at a college dance. They married on May 8, 1959. Four years after they married, they moved to Yukon and started their family; they had two children, Dawson and Ellen. They raised their children to value hard work and dedication, instilling in them the value of family and loyalty.

Norman and Carole loved visiting Canada every year. As time passed and the kids grew up, they spent upwards of 6 months every year there until the sale of the family home. They made lifelong friends and treasured memories during their Canadian travels. When they sold the family home, they returned to Canada when they could and never forgot their time in the mountains.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Emma, and his sister Marjorie. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Bea, brother Ted, and husband, Norman. Many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends also passed before them.

They are survived by their son Dawson Blacklee and his wife Charlotte, Daughter Ellen Teaford, Grandchildren Mande Hyre, Christian Teaford, Daulton Teaford and fiance Adrianna, Abbigale Teaford, and Samantha Teaford. They had four great-grandchildren, Gunner, Blaze, Chance, and Brooke.

Their legacy of kindness, compassion, and commitment lives on in their children, grandchildren, and the community they embraced. They left behind a tapestry of cherished memories, hand in hand, exemplifying love's enduring embrace. Norman and Carole's love story continues to shine, reminding us that love is timeless and eternal. Though they have bid us farewell, their love will forever be etched in our hearts. Rest in eternal peace together, forever.

Services will be held Saturday, August 12, at Covenant Community Church, 2250 S. Yukon Parkway, Yukon, OK, at 10:30 am.
