Christine Turea Parrish

On a spring day of April 6, 2023, Christine Harting Parrish crossed the Jordan River and entered the portals of heaven after finishing her battle with cancer. To the last moment of her life, she walked faithfully with the Lord and trusted solely in His supreme power. Christine lived with a "no matter what" faith as opposed to a "what if" faith. No matter what, she chose to honor the Lord and give Him all the praise and glory.

Those left to cherish the memories of Christine are her loving and caring husband of 56 years, Donald Charles Parrish; her sisters, Regina Malone and husband, John, of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Marcia Joyce Glaser and husband, Jerry, of Trinity, Texas; nieces, Jogina Kaye Malone Murphy, of Phoenix, Arizona and Elizabeth Christine Malone Schiffer, of Arizona; nephews, Navy Captain (Ret.) Eric Glaser, of San Diego, California, and Greg Glaser of Roanoke, Texas; and precious grand nephew, Jamison Kingston Murphy. Christine is also survived by many beloved cousins and forever friends.

Christine was born February 12, 1948 to Wilbur (Webb) and Velma Joyce Harting in Chickasha, Oklahoma; and she lived in the same house until she married. Her parents were solid, Christian and loving people. After graduating from Chickasha High School, Christine later earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.

On July 8, 1966, Christine married Donald Charles Parrish. After a three-year tour in the U.S. Army, they made their home in Oklahoma, living the last 45 years in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Christine was a professional career lady and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after 38-plus years of civil service. She enjoyed meeting people and serving the public to the best of her ability. She took pride in her work and was proud to be a part of the government's aviation industry.

Christine loved the outdoors. In their earlier years, Donald and Christine enjoyed raising large vegetable gardens, preserving food and sharing with family and friends. She also enjoyed beautiful flowers, planting many around their home and giving flowers to others. Another pleasure in her life was the 32 years she and Donald owned property and lived, part time after retirement, in beautiful Colorado.

Donald would like to offer his sincere gratitude to the loving and caring friends at Liberty Church Yukon and The Baptist Chapel, of Cortez, Colorado for their unfailing support, kindness and compassion.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for all who would like to celebrate Christine's life at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Liberty Church Yukon, OK. I Corinthians 13:8, "Love Never Fails."
