Christopher (Chris) Cooper

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher C. Cooper, of Yukon Oklahoma, on October 17, 2022.

Christopher Cooper was born and raised in El Reno, Oklahoma in 1959 and graduated from El Reno High School in 1977.  Chris worked as a machinist, and spent 23 years working at Xerox.  Later, he went back to school to become a radiologist technician and worked for Yukon Integris Hospital until he retired.  Chris had a love of the outdoors, spending time at the lake, camping, golfing, OU football, cuddling his pets, and spending time with his family and friends.  He had a humble intelligence that he exercised with word puzzles, logic games, reading, and deep conversations.  His memory for trivia and jokes, along with his quick wit, impressed many.  What everyone will remember most about Chris is how he made you feel.  He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Chris was really a friend to everyone and one of the most kind, caring people you ever met.  Chris wanted to make the world a better, kinder place, and for those who knew him, he surely did.

Chris was preceded in death by his father Earnest M. Cooper, and his mother Bonna Pearl (Robertson) Cooper.  Chris is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diana Lynn Cooper, daughter Ryan Nicole Shaw (Tarren J. Shaw), grandson Harold Cooper Shaw, sister Linda Watson, sister Rozella Jones, brother Kenneth Cooper (Meddy Gallegos), his in-laws June Watson, Terry Watson, Larry Watson, Lisa Maldarizzi (Sal Maldarizzi), and 24 nieces and nephews.

Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, OK will hold a viewing on Wednesday, October 19 from 2pm-8pm, and Thursday, October 20 from 9am-8pm.  Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21 at 10:00am.
