Christopher "Chris" James Shelton

Christopher "Chris" Shelton, 57, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully at 10:52 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. In his final act of generosity, Chris gave the gift of life to three individuals through organ donation.

Chris enjoyed a joyful childhood surrounded by his nephew Geoff and niece Jennifer. He was lovingly guided through life by his siblings—brothers Bill and Pat, and sister Marietta—and deeply shaped by the influence of his parents, Al and Mary Shelton.

A graduate of Northeast High School, Chris went on to build a dedicated career as a mechanic and delivery driver for the Oklahoma Tax Commission. His strong work ethic and kind spirit were evident in all he did.

Chris is survived by his two sons, Charles Shelton of Yukon, OK, and Christopher Shelton of Oklahoma City, OK; Close friend and mother Tammy Shelton (Sanford) of Oklahoma City, OK; his brothers William Shelton and wife Sharon of Edmond, OK, and Patrick Shelton and wife Michelle of Oklahoma City, OK; his niece Jennifer Schalund of Chicago, IL; nephew Geoff McClanahan of North Carolina and Robbie Shelton of Oklahoma city, OK; and cousin Janice Brehian of Enid, OK.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Al and Mary Shelton, and his sister Marietta.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nursing staff at St. Anthony Hospital for the exceptional care they provided Chris in his final days.

A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
