Christopher Shawn Miller

Christopher Shawn Miller, 40, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, tragically passed away on April 9, 2024. Born on December 20, 1983, in Chickasha, Chris was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend whose untimely departure has left profound sadness in the hearts of those who knew him.

Chris attended Putnam City West High School and was moved to serve his nation, enlisting in the National Guard. After his military service, he built a respected career as an electrician, known for his reliability and expertise.

In 2006, he married his soulmate, Mekel, and they were blessed with a daughter, Christine, who was the center of his world. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Chris's passion for martial arts began at the age of six with national karate, sparking a lifelong interest that later led him to Jujitsu. As an enthusiast, he found both physical and mental solace in the discipline it provided, a reflection of his inner strength and resilience.

A lover of billiards, Chris actively participated in multiple pool leagues. He was particularly fond of 8-ball, where his knack for working out the angles and mathematics of the game shone brightly.

Chris also had a deep affinity for working on cars. A self-taught mechanic, he loved building transmissions and figuring out engines, enjoying the challenge and satisfaction of solving complex mechanical problems.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert Miller; his uncle, Jeffrey Miller; his grandfather, Johnnie Miller; and his grandparents, the Tuckers. His memory will be honored by his survivors: his wife, Mekel Miller; daughter, Christine Miller; mother, Mary Montgomery (née Tucker); brother, Dustin Miller; sister, Laci Dennington; grandmother, Sherry Jay; and his aunt LaVonna Arnold.

As we mourn his departure, we also choose to celebrate the strength and warmth he brought into our lives.

A memorial service to celebrate Chris's life will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 1:30 PM at Christ's Church of Yukon, located at 620 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, OK 73099. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to the family to support his daughter Christine in Chris's memory.

Though his time with us was too brief, his impact is enduring. In his memory, let us reach out, connect, and offer kindness to those battling unseen struggles. Rest in peace, Chris.
