Colene Gay

Colene Gay was born April 06, 1940, in Chester, Oklahoma, to David Cole and Ivory Beck Harris. She passed away on Saturday May 23, 2026, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Connie Gay; three sisters, Hazel Hood, Hallie Mae DeVore, and Wanda Kyler; and five brothers, Frank Harris, Hughlet Harris, Kenneth “Babe” Harris, Glen Harris, and Elgin Harris. Those she leaves behind who hold cherished memories include: daughters, Vicki Vinson and her husband Scott, and Valerie Thompson; five grandchildren: Ryan Pendleton and wife April, Tara Frizell, Heath Pendleton and wife Amanda, Colby Vinson and wife Ashley, and Cale Vinson, and nineteen great grandchildren.

Colene completed secondary education in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Pawhuska High School Class of 1958. She was married July 06, 1957, in Miami, Oklahoma, to Connie Gay. They made the move to Yukon, Oklahoma in 1958 and started their family. She began working at McDonald’s in 1969 and retired after 25 years in 1994. She was also member of the El Reno Wrangler’s horse club for many years. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, puzzles, painting, and Monday morning breakfast with her friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
