Connie Kay Jackson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Kay Jackson, age 63, a cherished artist, sister, mother, grandmother, craftswoman, and devout Christian. Connie departed this world on December 12th, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering faith.

Born on May 29th, 1960 in Emmett, Idaho, Connie devoted her life to the pursuit of art and the joy it brought to others. Her canvas extended beyond her exquisite paintings, encompassing the roles of a loving sister, a nurturing mother, and a doting grandmother. Her hands, skilled in both artistic expression and crafting, brought warmth and creativity into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Connie found solace and purpose in her faith, and her unwavering commitment to Christianity that was evident in her daily life. As an active member of First Love Christian Church, she found a community that mirrored her values and provided a spiritual home and church family where she could grow in her faith.

Beyond the church walls, Connie extended her passion for art and crafts to the wider community. She generously shared her talents by teaching art and crafting classes, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. Her kindness and patience made her not only an exceptional teacher but also a friend to many.

Connie's love for animals was evident in the joy she found in raising Yorkshire Terriers.  Close friends and family will remember that she hardly went anywhere without Razzie by her side.

Connie Kay Jackson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, creativity, and faith have left an enduring impact that will be cherished for generations to come. As we mourn her passing, let us remember the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared. May she find eternal peace in the arms of Christ our Lord she so faithfully served.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, William Cornett, mother, Carol Lee Cornett Drake, husband, Louis O'Connor, who passed away in 1985, and husband Charles Jackson, who passed away in 2021.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn & David Sturtz; brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Sherry Cornett; son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Nicole Barnette; granddaughter, Maranda Benham, and grandsons, Colton Barnette, Ryder Barnette, and Rowdy Barnette.

Celebration of life services will be held 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Melrose on May Event Center, 11205 N. May Ave., Suite B, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
