Darlene Ruth White

Darlene Ruth White, 72 years young, of Yukon, Oklahoma, went on to be with her Lord, after having passed away while surrounded by her family.

Darlene, born on October 3, 1950, to Clifford and Catherine Hunter in Lake City, Iowa, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Darlene had a half-brother James and half-sister Mary. Darlene had a special bond with her father. She followed after her dad and learned to play the piano. With this, she joyfully brought music into the lives of those that were in her company. Darlene was a Fonda Flyer and went on to graduate from Fonda High School in 1968. After graduating, she studied nursing, and although she would not be called to enter that field as a profession, she did live her life caring for and loving all those with which she would share a path.

In 1969, Darlene met Kevin White, the two were inseparable from that point on and, on May 12, 1969, they married. Kevin and Darlene would remain married for over 53 years. From this marriage, they were blessed with two sons, Jason and Travis. Her sons were her pride and joy.

Darlene met every ingredient in the recipe of what makes a mom. She dedicated her whole life to raising and looking after her boys, with each of them going on to do great things in life which included her being promoted to grandma.

Darlene served over 27 years as a dispatcher for the Oklahoma City Fire Department retiring as a Major in 2010.

Like that of her father, Darlene had an enthusiasm for life which displayed itself in her love of music and photography. She found purpose and peace in living behind the camera's lens capturing countless pictures and moments of others in celebration and of all of God's creation at play from sea to sky.

Family came first and was above all else to Darlene, a value she instilled in all those around her.

Darlene was predeceased by her mom and dad. She is survived by her husband, Kevin of Yukon, OK and sons, Jason and wife, Tina of Tulsa, OK; Travis and wife, Hillary of Blanchard, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keegan, Hunter and wife, Alexis, Austin, Tanner, Savanna and Cooper, as well as many other family and friends.

Services will be held at Yukon Church, 11715 NW 10 ^th Street, Yukon, Oklahoma on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Internment to follow at Red Hill Cemetery, Mustang, Oklahoma.
