Darrell Devlin

James Darrell Devlin was born June 30, 1945 in Sentinel, OK, the son of the late Jimmy Devlin and Louise Bell. He passed from this life on July 26, 2024 in Cordell, OK at the age of 79 after a lengthy illness.

Raised in Sentinel, OK, he was a 1963 graduate of Sentinel High School. In 1964 he married Linda McClure and they relocated to California. In 1969 they moved back to Oklahoma and welcomed their first child and would later welcome two more children into their family.

Darrell spent his career farming wheat and cotton and raising cattle. He loved his family and was always proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He graced everyone with his outgoing personality and a big smile. Darrell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sentinel.

He was preceded in death by his mother Louise Ridling Bell; father Jimmy Devlin; stepfather Jim Bell; father and mother-in-law Leon and Wilma McClure; sister Barbara Nutter; brother-in-law Herb Nutter; brother-in-law Stanley Simon; stepbrother Larry Bell; uncle and aunt Barton and Orlene Ridling; aunt Wanda Boone, and aunt Joan Ridling.

Darrell is survived by his wife Linda Devlin of the home; daughter Lori Richardson and husband Keith of Sentinel, OK; daughter Dana Chaplin and husband Chad of Weatherford, OK; son Jimmy Devlin and wife Jill of Sentinel, OK; grandchildren:  Chase Johnson of Weatherford, OK, Lakyn Johnson and Austin Robnett of Carnegie, OK, Landri Daryl Null and husband Colvin of Hobart, OK, Grady Chaplin of Weatherford, OK, Hix Johnson of Sentinel, OK, and J.C. and Jack Devlin of Sentinel, OK. Also surviving are his sister Kay Simon of Little Rock, AR; sister-in-law Ginger Hamblin of Cordell, OK, brother-in-law Rick McClure of Oklahoma City, OK and uncle R.L. Ridling of Sentinel, OK, as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home in Sentinel. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, at the First Baptist Church, Sentinel, with interment following at the Sentinel Cemetery.
