Darrell Travis Johnson

Darrell T. Johnson, 87, of Yukon, OK, passed away peacefully on June 6 ^th , 2022 in Oklahoma City with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side. Darrell was born June 7, 1934 In Blanchard, OK, to Sandford and Dorothy Johnson.

Darrell moved to Yukon in 1950, graduating from Yukon High School 1952 as the salutatorian of his class. He married Janet Jane (Litke) Johnson in Mead, OK on May 21, 1955, sharing 68 years together. He worked at the Air National Guard for 35 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1989. Darrell's hobbies included woodworking, and gardening, with a special love of watching all sports, especially Thunder Basketball!!

He is survived by his wife Janet; son, Ricky Johnson (Jo); daughter, Rebecca Johnson Van Horn (Juston);   grand-kids:  Travis Johnson (Irene), Carly Johnson Carney (Lance), and Parker Van Horn; great grand-kids:  Isaeh, Gabriel, Lexi and Peyton Johnson, and Emma and Tucker Carney, and sisters, Phyllis Wallace and Patti Stone

Darrell was preceded in death by both parents; 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Autism Speaks or The Dale Rogers Training Center.

Viewing will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the funeral home. Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 10 ^th , 2022 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK. Interment will follow at the Yukon Cemetery, where he will be honored with full military honors.
