Darro Setrino Oclaray

Darro S. Oclaray, age 78, passed away on May 11th, 2024, after an all-too-short battle with cancer. Darro was born August 7th, 1945, in Portsmouth, Virginia and grew up in Sacramento, Ca. The Air Force took him to Thailand where he served during the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, he found himself in Oklahoma where he won the heart of Jannette P Logsdon, whom he married on June 12, 1976.

Darro helped establish the Dayton Tire Plant in Oklahoma City where he worked as senior scheduler. He was there until they closed the doors many years later. Darro enjoyed music, technology, and photography as well as restoring and collecting cast metal banks. He had a great love for Christmas, putting up an impressive display on the lawn and hand-painting the front door.

His wife, children, and grandchildren were the light of his life. He invested his time and energy into caring for them as well as additional kids he treated as grandchildren. He was steadfast and reliable, a rock for the entire family.

Darro is survived by his wife Jannette, his brother Gaynon Oclaray, his children Dennis Oclaray and wife Shawna, Keli Stawisuck and husband Brian, Tiffani Miller and husband Jim, and Jennifer Hast and husband Michael as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those he treated as family. Darro was a long-time member of the Church of Christ of South Yukon.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the South Yukon Church of Christ in Yukon, OK.
