David Wayne Friesen

David Wayne Friesen was born September 21, 1963, to Ray and Alma Friesen, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He departed this life, on July 27, 2024, at the age of 60, in the comfort of his home in Yukon, Oklahoma, with his wife and daughters by his side.

David was raised in Edmond, OK, along with his two brothers and one sister. He attended Edmond Public Schools until he transferred to Corn Bible Academy where he graduated in 1981. David's faith was an integral part of his life, and he was known for his strong Christian beliefs. He had a passion for teaching kids about Jesus, including traveling to Germany to teach Vacation Bible School to children living on a military base. He served in numerous ministries and churches throughout the years.

David's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his role as a family man. On July 1, 1995, David married his best friend, Pam, and with that gained a daughter, Bridgette. In 1997 their daughter Jennifer was born and completed their family.  Together they enjoyed spending time going on vacations to Branson, Jamaica, Las Vegas, and many other places. He had the time of his life on their last vacation to Niagara Falls and exploring lighthouses along the coast of Maine.

David dedicated his career to working in the automotive industry. He loved his co-workers and considered them family. Always bringing them donuts, brownies and any other foods, he knew they would enjoy. Due to health reasons, he retired in April of 2024, much to his disappointment.

David had a vibrant personality and was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a larger-than-life persona and was known for his sense of humor. He was a jokester that had a knack for making people laugh and there was never a dull moment when "Super Dave" was around. He was a selfless individual who was constantly doing things for others and always willing to lend a helping hand. Throughout his life, David found immense joy in various activities. Whether it was casting a line in the water, attending hockey games, or experiencing the adrenaline of racing. In addition, he spent endless hours at the lake riding Sea Doo's, jumping off cliffs, and setting trout lines.

David is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Alma Friesen, mother-in-law Mary-Lou Olson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gene and Debbie Thomas, nephew Caleb Thomas, and nephew Brandon Barfield. He is survived by his wife Pam Friesen, daughters Bridgette Heinrichs and Jennifer Friesen, his brother Alvin Friesen and wife Kristin, brother James Friesen and wife Kris, sister Joyce Barfield and husband David, brother-in-law Randy Olson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He cherished his family connections and valued the importance of close relationships.

David Wayne Friesen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and unwavering faith. His absence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Christ's Church, Yukon, with interment following at 3:45 p.m. at the Corn Cemetery, Corn, OK.
