David Ninete Lizama

David Ninete Lizama, a man of faith, strength, and boundless love, was called home to the Lord on January 12, 2026, at the age of 75. He has been survived by his wife, Alfonsina Borja Lizama, for 48 years.

As he rests, he now joins his parents, Pedro Toves Lizama and Rosario Ninete Lizama. David also joins his:  Brothers and spouses: Vicente N. & Patricia L. Lizama, & Joseph N. Lizama; Sister: Regina N. Lizama & John E.Q. Finona; and Parents-in-Law: Frederico F. & Juana B. Borja.

David is survived by his: Brothers and Spouses: Edward N. Lizama & Doris Campaco, Pedro N. Lizama & Cheryl Hiton.

David's story began on September 25, 1950, when he was born. As a forward thinker, David pursued his passion for technology in his homeland, Guam, USA. He started as an apprentice and was later employed as a technician by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Guam. Meantime, while taking some night courses at the University of Guam.

On May 21, 1977, David's life was forever changed when he married his love, Alfonsina Blanco Borja. Together, they had four beautiful children. Within and after a 48-year marriage, David's love will be cherished by his children & spouse, and grandchildren: Daniel B. Lizama; Gordon B. & Diem N. Lizama, (Mary, Gianna, Catherine, & Regina); Loni Bess. L & Corey T. L. Calloway Sr. (Corey Jr., Caleb, & Jessica Rose); Amanda Rose B. Lizama.

Together, David and Alfonsina made their courageous move to Oklahoma in February 1986. David continued his career at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. He completed his Bachelor's degree at Oklahoma City University in Math & Physics. He then furthered his education and earned his title as an Electronics Engineer Instructor at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. He was passionate about his job as an instructor, which lasted up to 42 years of service.

By those who knew him most, David was a father who showed up for every milestone & celebration, and was available to his children in times of need. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and servant of Jesus Christ.

Some of David's hobbies were repairing electronics at home and working on mechanical things. He enjoyed the challenge of saving money. He had a competitive nature and would take on a good challenge in a heartbeat!

Some of his favorite meals were steak, shrimp, and lobster. David made a personal commitment to attend mass nearly every day. He was a joyful giver. At the beginning of his career, he gave up his whole paycheck to his parents until the moment he got married.

In his final years, David faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease with quiet confidence. David leaned even deeper into his faith and the love and support of his family, especially his wife. He walked through life with the heart of a servant. His love shone in the simple things: a family cookout, a shared laugh, or a prayer. His laugh was one that was contagious and lit up the room for all who were nearby.

David leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of his wife, his siblings, his children, and his many grandchildren. He taught us that a life well-lived is measured by the love we leave behind. David Lizama's legacy lives on.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma.

An additional viewing will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Wake and Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2121 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73107.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
