David Allan Mitchell

David Allan Mitchell, 79, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Yukon, OK. He was born on January 27, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK to James D. and Betty J. (Jackson) Mitchell.

A 1964 graduate of El Reno High School, David, went on to attend Southwestern State University for several years. He then joined the U.S. Army, serving for 3½ years before receiving an honorable discharge.

David moved to Yukon in 1997 and worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, retiring after 30 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing his trumpet, and had a deep interest in entomology.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James D. and Betty J. Mitchell.

David is survived by his wife, Annie Mitchell; son, Garry Mitchell; daughter, Laura Hickman; sons, Kevin Mitchell and Roy Mitchell and wife Jill; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Daniel Mitchell.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 15 S. 6th St., Yukon, OK.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at First Baptist Church, Yukon, with interment following at Yukon Cemetery.
