David Gordon Nicodemus

David Gordon "Nick" Nicodemus, age 87, was born May 21, 1935 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He was raised on the family farm in Hillsdale, Wyoming. He worked there as a ranch/farm hand until he was drafted into the Army. He went to boot camp at Fort Ord, CA, after which he served in the Korean War. When he returned from service, he met his wife of 62 years, Joyce (neè Bridgeford) Nicodemus. They stayed in California to raise their children and retired briefly to Urbana, Missouri, before moving to Stillwater, OK in February 2004 to be closer to some of their family. As David said, being in Stillwater and watching his grandkids show cattle reminded him of home in Wyoming. David and Joyce also welcomed several grandchildren into their home during their college years at Oklahoma State University. David leaves behind many friends made in Yukon and Stillwater during this time.

David was preceded in death by his father Dale G. Nicodemus and mother Agnes May (neè Gillette) Nicodemus, and daughter Katherine LaFirn Nicodemus.

He is survived by his wife Joyce (neè Bridgeford) Nicodemus of the home, and 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grand-children which include:  daughter, Donna Nicodemus Walker, her husband Stan Walker, grandchildren John Walker and his wife Kristin Walker, and Amber Walker and great-grandson, Rowen, all of Mobile, Alabama; daughter, Levata Nicodemus Mickelson, her husband Daniel Mickelson of Yukon, Oklahoma, grandchildren:  Mellanie Mickelson and her partner Casey Dilbert of Manor, Texas, Cassandra Mickelson Cullin and her husband James Cullin with great-grandsons, Cameron and Logan of Forest Grove, Oregon, and Nick Mickelson and partner Michala Schultz of Yukon, Oklahoma, and son, Jay Nicodemus and grandson Jay Nicodemus, Jr, of Sitka, Alaska.

David requested to be cremated with no service and a private internment.
