David Randolph Page

David Randolph Page, who made his home in Yukon, Oklahoma, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 8, 1949, the son of Paul Randolph Page and Mary Lee Page, who preceded him in death. David died after a long illness on July 31, 2025.

David grew up in Kingston, Tennessee, near Knoxville. He attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned a degree in Journalism and Economics. After graduation, David worked at newspapers in Bristol and Knoxville, Tennessee. Then, in May 1979, he joined The Journal Record newspaper, where he served as managing editor, eventually becoming one of Oklahoma's leading editors and President of the Associated Press Oklahoma News Executives. He retired from The Journal Record in 2020 after 41 years of service at the newspaper.

On April 19, 1995, David survived the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building in OKC. In the days following the bombing, David dedicated his energy to rebuilding the newspaper, despite sustaining injuries himself. The OKC National Memorial Museum includes a portion of David's office as an exhibition, and includes the two-word sentence: "Page survived."

On May 13, 2011, David was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in recognition for outstanding service in the profession of journalism. David is survived by his beloved wife, June Page of Yukon, OK, and was a devoted father to two children, Mary Page Bailey of Edmond, OK and Daniel Randolph Page of OKC. He also leaves five adored grandchildren: Amelia Page, Naomi Bailey, Sullivan Page, Micah Bailey and Eleanor Page. He was preceded in death by his sister and dear friend, Nancy Lee Page.
