David Leroy Richardson

David LeRoy Richardson, 85, passed from this life on March 18, 2025, just three days before his 86th birthday. He was born on March 21, 1939, in Piedmont, Oklahoma, to David "Cop" and Alice Irene Richardson.

LeRoy grew up in the Deer Creek area and attended Deer Creek Schools. As a young man, LeRoy was baptized at the Piedmont Baptist Church, where he made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

On May 1, 1958, he married the love of his life, Barbara Lee Bradley. They moved to the Piedmont, Oklahoma, area, where LeRoy began farming small crops. In 1967, they expanded their farming operation to include dairying.

Over the years, LeRoy honed his skills as a cattleman and raised some of the top Holsteins in the breed, earning All American status with his prize cow, Annie. He was honored with several awards in both the farming and dairy industries.

Later in life, LeRoy and Barbara relocated to Olney, Oklahoma, where they ranched until their retirement. While living in Olney, they developed a close relationship with the Amish community in the area. They also enjoyed owning and racing horses.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara, who passed away on March 24, 2008; three sisters: Marsha, Patricia, and Bernice; and his daughter, Terri.

He is survived by four of his five children: Dennis Richardson and his wife, Jan; Don Richardson and his wife, Missy; Robert Richardson and his wife, Michelle; and Lori Richardson. He is also survived by two of his five sisters: Lyda Walker and Charlene Sasser; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a longtime friend, D. Dewayne Spencer.

A time for visitation and viewing is scheduled for Monday, March 24, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Yanda and Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, Oklahoma. A private burial will take place on Tuesday in Harrah, Oklahoma.
