Dean Allan Drennon

Dean Allan Drennon, age 73, was born August 27, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK. He passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Lawton, OK.

After graduating from Edmond High School in 1968, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., serving in Vietnam in 1969. His tour of duty in Vietnam was 11 months and he earned several merits while serving, including a purple heart. After his service Dean settled in Yukon in 1980. After retiring from Yukon Police Dept. he worked as a security officer for Yukon National Bank then retired permanently in 2005.

While performing his Police & Security duties Dean could be seen driving by flashing his spotlight from his car across the properties of friends, families and neighbors making them feel safe, letting them know he's around. He loved his motorcycle and he would often take off with the many friends that he had and was a supporter of some charitable biker groups. After his stroke in 2005 you didn't see him on his motorcycle anymore but that didn't slow him down. He jumped into his convertible and was still on the go. He loved lounging in his garage with the garage door up and the music on and could always count on someone stopping by for a visit. During the 4th of July festivals and Christmas lights in the Park he would drive his golf cart down to the park to help the city employees working the events, providing them with water and cheerful conversations.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Roxanne Drennon; his daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Chris Turner; grandchildren, Nicole, Dylan & Katelyn; great-grandson, Jackson, and 21 other grand, great, and great-great grandchildren in Washington's extended family.

Viewing will be held 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 and Tuesday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m, with funeral services following at 10:00 a.m., at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, OK 73099. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
