Debbie Callison

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Debbie Callison, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on June 1, 2026 at the age of 73.

Born on April 10, 1953, in the close-knit community of Pampa, Texas, Debbie was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her. Debbie was the cherished daughter of Forrest and Peggy Cloyd, who raised her in a home filled with love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Cloyd, and her grandparents, Jake and Thelma Longan, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into the afterlife. Her son, Matthew Callison, also predeceased her, leaving a tender void that she bore with grace and courage.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, David Callison. Their marriage, which began on May 27, 1972, was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they created a family rooted in love, nurturing their sons, including their surviving son John Callison and his wife, Brenna, who will continue to honor Debbie's legacy alongside her beloved grandchild Easton, who brought immense joy to her life. Debbie's heart was always with her family, including her mother, Peggy Cloyd, and her siblings, Teresa Cloyd and Ray Spence, all of whom reside in Pampa, Texas. Her family was her anchor, and she cherished every moment spent in their presence.

A proud graduate of Pampa Texas High School, class of 1971, Debbie furthered her education by earning both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). Her dedication to learning set a powerful example for her family and students alike. Debbie's professional journey began in the banking industry, where she worked diligently for 16 years. However, her true calling was in education. For 26 years, she inspired countless young minds as a teacher in the Yukon, Oklahoma Public School System. Her passion for teaching and her genuine care for her students left an indelible mark on the community.

Outside of her professional life, Debbie had a zest for life that was infectious. She enjoyed simple pleasures—sharing stories with friends and nurturing her family's spirits with her incomparable warmth and wisdom. Debbie Callison was a woman of remarkable strength and compassion, whose life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. She will be remembered not only for her achievements but for the kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating Debbie’s life during a come-and-go visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Yukon Public Schools and Mabel Fry Public Library, reflecting her lifelong commitment to education and community service. As we bid farewell to Debbie, let us hold onto the memories that she gifted us, cherishing the laughter, love, and lessons she imparted. Her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
