Del Ann Easter

Del Ann Easter, age 72, of Yukon passed away peacefully early Saturday morning. Del Ann was born July 25, 1952 in Blair, Oklahoma to Junior and Nancy Cargal. She was their first born but soon became the proud big sister of John Harold. Del Ann spent her childhood barrel racing, playing the organ at the First Baptist Church, and enjoying farm life. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in education. Del Ann dedicated her career and poured her heart into educating children who needed extra attention and accommodation. But first, and above all, Del Ann loved her family.

Don and Del Ann were married May 11, 1985 at Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas. They loved traveling to Las Vegas over the years and Eischen's dinner dates. Upon becoming empty nesters, it was apparent to everyone around them that they seemed to fall in love with one another all over again.

Don and Del Ann raised 3 daughters in Yukon where the kitchen table was the heart of their home – it was where Del Ann fixed the girls' hair each morning before school, helped them with schoolwork each night, and where they gathered as family each and every night to eat her home cooked meals. At Christmas time you could find her seated at the living room piano playing carols, with a girl on either side singing along.

When Del Ann wasn't crocheting baby blankets for every pregnant friend she could find, reading entire books in a day, or sneaking off to a local concert or casino with Don – she was loving on her grandsons. Her role as "Nana" was easily her favorite.

Her incredible kindness, thoughtfulness, and empathy made her the best friend, teacher, wife, mother, and grandmother. She prioritized her family and her faith above all else.

Del Ann is preceded in death by her parents Junior and Nancy Cargal and brother John. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years Donald Easter, daughter Elizabeth Maier and husband Ben of Mustang, daughter Merydith Harmon and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City, daughter Catie Krautkramer and husband Eric of Edmond, grandsons Jordan, Zachary, James, and Rowyn, aunt Kyla James of Tuttle, niece Lani Sanders and husband David of Norman, nephew Joe Bob Cargal of Norman, as well as many cousins, extended family, and close friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Legacy Family Hospice for their care of Del Ann in her final days. Memorial contributions may be made to the Citizens Caring for Children organization.

A celebration of Del Ann's life will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., at Yanda and Son Funeral Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, OK 73099.
