Dennis Ray Horton

Dennis Horton, age 73, was born April 1, 1952 in Grand Rapids, MI to Howard and Mina Horton, and passed from this life on December 6, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. Raised in Marne, MI, he graduated from Coopersville High School in 1970. Dennis enlisted in the United States Air Force in June 1970. He was stationed in Japan and Rapid City, SD where he met Shirley Griffith while they were both stationed there. They were married on March 1, 1974. He was honorably discharged in April of 1974. They moved to Oklahoma in 1976 where Dennis started working for Wilsey Bennet until 1979. He started working at Rexam manufacturing in 1979 and retired from there in 2009 after 30 years of dedicated service. He loved to work on and fix up cars. As he got older, he also started doing woodworking, making different outdoor items that he liked to share with his family. He was a quiet man who didn't express his emotions much, but you always knew he liked you if he made something for you. Dennis is preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard and Mina Horton, as well as his brothers, Donald and William Horton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Shirley Horton; daughter Melinda Peace and her husband Brian Peace; son Michael Horton and his life partner Jenny Jones; grandchildren, Cody and Kaitlyn Peace and Zachary Horton, and sister, Wanda Horton. There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
