Dolores "Dee" Louise Jordan

Dolores "Dee" Hobbie Jordan of Ragley, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at the age of 89.

She was born in Sulphur, Louisiana, on August 14, 1936, to Louis and Aline Hobbie. In 1955, she married Robert Jordan. Together, they raised three children—Larry, Debbie, and Pam—and their family grew to include eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dee grew up in the Sulphur Mines area, attended Sulphur High School, and later earned her master's degree from McNeese State University. She dedicated her career to teaching at W. T. Henning Elementary School in Sulphur, Louisiana, where she adored her students. Even in her later years, when she saw a group of young people, she often wondered aloud, "I wonder if I taught them?"

Dee was a talented painter who loved to create art throughout her life. Her artwork continues to grace the walls of her family's homes. She also enjoyed painting cards to send to others, many of which were treasured enough to be framed.

She was a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, where she attended Mass and Bible study for many years. Later in life, the nuns from the church took her on a special trip to visit her brother, Butch, in North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to her church.

In retirement, Dee and her husband built their dream home on ten acres in the countryside of Ragley, Louisiana, where they lived a long and fulfilling life together that many only dream of.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Clarke.

Dee is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert Jordan; her brother, Butch Hobbie (Mary Lee); and her sister, Joyce Greenslade (Butch). She is also survived by her son, Larry Jordan (Barbara); her daughter, Debbie Davis (Jerry); her grandkids, Dustin Jordan (Emily), Daniel Jordan, Courtney Davis (Russ), Ryan Jordan, Robert Jordan (Sally), Becky Melancon (Shaun), Kelly Deville (AJ), and Megan Gutierrez (Ryan); and her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Dayton, Jackson, Kennedy, Bertie, Jaina, Jace, Jo, and Katie.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
