Donald Lee Foreman

Donald L. "Don" Foreman was born March 7, 1933 in Gentry, AR, and passed from this life on December 8, 2022 at his home in Yukon, OK.

Don enlisted in the Navy at 17 years of age. He met Yvonne Reid in Christchurch, NZ, in October of 1957 on his first trip to Antarctica, and were married on his second trip to Antarctica in October of 1960, sharing 55 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Their union produced two children, Sandra and Timothy.

Don was a proud Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam War, retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1970. He immediately began working at Dayton Tire, retiring in 1997.

Don was a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and was a member of the Old Antarctica's Explorers Assoc., Fleet Reserve Assoc., VFW, VVA, American Legion, and sat on the Oklahoma Veterans Council for 35 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Foreman and partner Bob Ivans of El Reno, OK; son, Tim Foreman and wife Billie of Meeker, OK; grandson, Matthew Foreman and wife Amanda Harrah, OK; granddaughter, Catherine Landeros and Brendan Hughes Moore, OK; great-grandchildren, Ava Landeros, Rayleigh Foreman, Leila Wallace, Wyatt Foreman, Madelynn Foreman, Brayden Hughes and Reagan Hughes, and sister, Shirley Bell of Hutchinson, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Don was very easily satisfied with one wife and two jobs!! Don requested no service at this time, just another transfer later. Don and Yvonne's final resting place will be in the niche at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK, with full military honors, in the spring of 2023.
