Donald Lee Harris

Donald Lee Harris peacefully passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 94 in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was born on October 23, 1928, in Enid, Oklahoma, to his late parents Otto Lee and Mardie Faye Harris. Don was preceded in death by his brother Doug and sister-in-law Pat Harris, as well as his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Harris.

Don attended Medford High School and later pursued higher education at Northern Oklahoma College. Following his education, he embarked on a successful career as a geological draftsman for Kerr McGee. His dedication and expertise were highly regarded in his field.

Outside of work, Don had a passion for various hobbies. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing. Don was a model train enthusiast, finding delight in creating and operating his intricate train sets. Don grew up on the Medford family farm and continued to oversee it. He was the President of the Westbury South Neighborhood Association. Don was also a devoted OState fan.

Don was a charter member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd. His faith was an important aspect of his life.

Don is survived by his loving children: sons Terry Harris and wife Janet, Rob Harris and wife Trish, daughters Debbie Parks and husband Randy, Kathy Veros, and Cindy Franklin and husband Michael. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Jeremy Harris and wife Brooke, Jeffry and wife Brandi, Theresa Guerrero and husband Nick, Stan Harris, Clay Parks and wife Katelyn, Scott Parks and husband Ali Haji, Lindsay McClure, Jace Franklin, Haley Franklin, and great grandchildren: Cate and Caroline Harris, Avery, Adelyn and Annie Harris, Austin, Jordyn and Bella Guerrero, Beau and Gentry Parks.

Viewing will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11 at the funeral home. A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be held at the Yukon United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd on Thursday, October 12 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Yukon United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd.
