Donald Lee Mcfarland

Donald Lee McFarland was born November 12, 1933, to William (Bill) Thomas and Lavina McFarland in Beaver, Oklahoma.

At a young age he moved with his parents to near Sayre, Oklahoma, where his father was employed in a dairy. He attended grade school at Doxey, Oklahoma and Merritt, Oklahoma. In his freshman year, the family moved to a farm near Cheyenne, Oklahoma, where he attended High School at Reydon, Oklahoma. He graduated from Reydon High School in 1952. After graduation, he farmed with his father until being drafted into the Army in 1956. He served most of his time in the Armed Forces at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

He was married to Pauline Fetty November 4, 1955, in Childress, Texas. One daughter was added to this union in 1968. After being discharged from the Army, he helped his father on the farm until the farm was sold in 1959. At that time, he found employment with Phillips Petroleum and worked there until retirement in 1989. After retirement, he and his wife Pauline moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Thomas (Tom) McFarland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Pauline; his daughter Laura Bornemann; 2 grandsons Hunter & Corey; nephew Glen McFarland of Arizona; and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held at Yukon Cemetery on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
