Dorothy Alice Hamper

Dorothy Alice Hamper, age 93, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born August 24, 1933, in Saint Francis, Kansas, to Homer and Clara Follett.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma. Viewing will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

In 1954, she married Miles Hamper of Colby, Kansas. Together, they built a beautiful legacy that includes five children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy retired from Altec Lansing after completing her working career. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and, of course, her beloved chickens. If it had a seed, it had to be planted, and most of the time, it would grow. Her chickens were also very important to her. She was quite the chicken tender!

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Clara; her husband, Miles; her brother, Cecil; her sister, Ellen; her brother-in-law, Kenneth; her son, Stephen; her son-in-law, Robert; her granddaughter, Calli; and her grandsons, Kyle and Mike.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori, Linda, and Toni; her son, Monte; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
