Doyle Ray Newman

Doyle Ray Newman, born on July 24, 1948, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at 76. Doyle was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather—aka "Papa" and "Poppi." He was the son of Wanda and Coy Triplett and DK and Vurl Newman, all of whom preceded him in death, along with his brother-in-law, Roger Pattinson, and his nephew, Kevin Swalley.

Doyle graduated from Enid High School before pursuing further education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. His professional life was marked by significant contributions to MI Drilling Fluids, Halliburton, and Baroid, where his meticulous attention to detail and dedication were highly valued.

An even-tempered and patient man, Doyle was known for his athletic prowess, quiet sense of humor, and his expensive taste. He took immense pride in his accomplishments and maintained a deep appreciation for the finer things in life, including his passion for ice cream. Doyle's hobbies included fishing, golf, gardening, and fine dining. He was particularly crafty with fishing gear, building rods, and making lures with a skill that matched his professional and personal pursuits.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Norma Newman; his daughters, Carissa Trost and her husband Brad, and Lisa Kinser and her husband Kyle; his sister Linda Gauger and her husband David; his sisters by marriage, Virginia Pattinson and Salome Vaughn; his grandchildren, Connor, Annelise "Pearl," Austen, and Cora; and his nieces and nephews, Keil, Bryan, Joe, Jesmond, Janine, Christian, and Jimmy; along with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, OK 73099, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, From 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the same location, with a graveside prayer to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Oilton, OK.
