Francena Carol Karguth

Francena Carol Karguth, 83, went to be with her Lord on July 5, 2026. Born on December 8, 1942 in St. Joseph, MO, she married the love of her life, Donald Eugene Karguth, on October 8, 1959. They were married for 66 years and set a wonderful example of love to their family. Carol loved her family deeply and was so proud of them. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her friends and family, especially at the cabin on the Lake of the Ozarks.

She was blessed with six children: Judy Hurt (Larry) of St. Joseph, MO, Belinda Beerman (Matt) of St. Louis, MO, Darla Lowrance (Craig) of Nixa MO, Vonda Stephens (Stuart) of Yukon, OK, Don Karguth (Marty) of Edmond, OK and Brian Karguth (Dawn) of Van Alstyne, TX. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Carol went to work for the St. Joseph Food System when her youngest child was in 1st grade, and she eventually became the food manager at an elementary school near her home. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Carol always enjoyed cooking in the summer at church camp for many years and also enjoyed sewing. Her children remembered many matching Easter outfits Carol created for them, and she sewed one of her daughter’s wedding dresses.

Carol was a faithful member of the East Hills church of Christ in St. Joseph, MO for many years. After retiring in 2009, she and Don moved to Yukon, OK to be closer to their children and became a member of the South Yukon church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Cuma and Raymond Sharp, her brother, Bill Sharp, her sister, Darla Follett and her daughter, Judy Hurt.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Yanda and Son Funeral Home. Her life celebration will be at South Yukon church of Christ on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://youtube.com/live/d7Me-9cLG-4?feature=share.
