Frank Fredric Rott

Frank Fredric Rott, age 79, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 17, 1943 to Clarence Rott and Helen Kouba Rott. He was the oldest of four children. He was raised on the family farm northeast of Yukon, Oklahoma. There he helped build the family home, farmed wheat, and raised cattle and many other farm animals. He graduated from Yukon High School in 1961. He was actively involved in FFA. He achieved the status of Master Farmer. After high school he continued to farm while attending Oklahoma State University School of Technical Training in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. There he met the love of his life Margaret Smith, after being set up by a mutual friend, and were married in May of 1964. He graduated in December of 1964 with a certificate in Diesel Mechanics. They lived in Okmulgee where he worked while she finished her teaching degree. He was drafted into the Army in May of 1966. While serving he was stationed in Berlin, Germany for two years. Margaret joined him and that is where their oldest daughter, Rebecca, was born. When he was discharged in April of 1968, he was classified as a Sargent E5. He received a sharp-shooter medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal for serving in Berlin. After an honorable discharge, they moved to El Reno, OK. He continued to help on the family farm in Yukon and worked as a diesel mechanic. He eventually opened his own farm implement company, working on tractors and selling White Farm Equipment. He was well known for his ability to fix almost anything that ran on diesel or had wheels. He also served one term on the El Reno City Council. He was blessed with four other children, Robert, Susan, Scott, and Sharon. He worked tirelessly until his unofficial retirement and closed his shop in 1992. He continued to work on the family farm, and repair friends' tractors. He officially retired from farming in 2006 when the family farm was sold. During his retirement, he began many new hobbies, including coin collecting, bird watching, and he loved his Jack Russells, Taffy and Little Girl. Out of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved to be called dad, grandpa or papa. They knew they could call him for help to fix anything, talk about their show animals, tractors, or just needed a lap to sit on. He was active in several churches during his life, most recently Richland Church of the Nazarene. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26 ^th , 2023, in El Reno, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; his sister Jo Ann Rott; sister-in-law Joye Kratochvil; niece Lily Rott; and nephew Caleb Rott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret of the home; his children - Rebecca Stover (Bart) of Hinton, OK; Robert Rott (Carrie) of Billings, MT; Susan Rott of Tulsa, OK; Scott Rott of the home, and Sharon Rott (Tony) of Broken Arrow, OK; his eleven grand kids:  Morgan and Sage Stover, Brian Miller, Aaren, Parker, and Payton Rott, Devin, Brannon, and Dalton Rott, and Anthony P. and Derek McCarty. He is also survived by his brother John Rott (Catherine); his sister Judy Reilly (Phil); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 31, at Richland Church of the Nazarene, 10825 6 ^th St., Yukon, OK, with interment following at Mathewson Cemetery, Piedmont, OK.
