Freda Mae Burke

Freda Mae Burke, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Freda was born in Coleman, Oklahoma, to Hearl Dollar and Nedra Dollar on November 26, 1942. Raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, by John and Nedra Mayo, she graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 1960. Later that same year, she met the love of her life, James Burke, and they married soon after in 1961. Freda and Jim decided to settle in Yukon in 1962. Over the years, she worked at many places, but her most recent position was with Weokie Credit Union from 1989 to 2005. Her greatest accomplishments in life were her marriage, becoming a mom twice, and cherishing her roles as Grandma and Great-Grandma. She often said that family and God were her greatest loves.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Burke; her daughter, Lisa Kaye White; and her sister, Debbie Young. She is survived by her son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Tammie, and granddaughter, Ashlyn of Yukon; granddaughter, Jamie and her husband, Zach; great-granddaughters, Addison and Blakely of Mansfield, Texas; granddaughter, Jessica and her husband, Hud of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Harold Dollar of Oklahoma City; sisters, Sharon Kautz of Wichita, Kansas, Barbara Swartz of Yukon, Oklahoma, Louise Hammersley of Alex, Oklahoma, and Paula Mayo of Yukon, Oklahoma, along with many nieces and nephews.
