Garren Claude Dodson

Garren Claude Dodson, 80, of Yukon, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday morning June 16th, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born September 19th, 1944 to Junior T. Dodson and Eva Elaine Barnhart-Dodson, Garren grew up in a dirt construction family and his first love was getting on a caterpillar dozer where he could forget about life problems. He started his career working for Kyle and Schmidt Dirt Construction out of Bessie Oklahoma. He later chose a career working for the State Highway Department; in the surveying department in Elk City, Oklahoma and was later transferred to El Reno Highway Department. He later went to work for Davilla Engineering. He then formed SDR Surveying and then Dodson and Roberts Surveying. Lastly, his final partnership before retiring was DTM, Dodson-Tompson-Mansfield. After his retirement, he enjoyed once again being on a dozer and doing dirt work with his good buddy, Ken Jacobs, (what those two couldn't get into).

He married Linda Howard in 1962 that lasted until his death for sixty-two years plus. They had two sons, Garren Dwain and Jeffrey Lynne Dodson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Reagan Elaine, and daughter-in-law, Vanesia. He is survived by his wife Linda; sons, Dwain and Jeff; three grandchildren: grandson Garrett and wife Amy, granddaughter Tori Cas and husband Caleb, and grandson Garren Louis, and lastly his great-granddaughter Claire, born January 2nd, 2025. Garren is also survived by one brother, Greg Dodson and wife Renee of Elk City, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22nd at Canadian County Cowboy Church in Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
