Gary Charles Jester

Gary Charles Jester, 68, of Yukon, Oklahoma, beloved husband of 48 years to Susie, father to Kelly and Grumpa to David passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2024. Gary was born on November 10, 1955, to Charlie and Evelyn Jester.  He lived his entire life in Yukon, Oklahoma, graduating from Yukon High School in 1974.  He married the love of his life Susie in 1975.  Gary was a highly skilled and well-respected engine machinist.  He began working for the family business, Charlie's Automotive Machine Shop, at the age of 12, eventually becoming owner and running the business until its closure in 2003.  After 35 years at Charlie's, he went on to work for Memorial Machine then Waukesha-Pearce Industries until his retirement in 2020.

Hobbies over the years included building and re-building hot rods, water skiing, camping, hunting, watching auto racing, and watching movies. He had many collections (large and small) including stereos, albums, CDs, movies, jackets, tools, racing memorabilia, clocks and watches.  Gary had a passion for listening to music and had an extensive collection.  He was an encyclopedia of classic rock knowledge, and listened to music daily (in the car, all day at work, while camping and skiing, at home on weekends and daily after retirement).

Gary's top priority in life was caring for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Evelyn (Robinson) Jester, beloved uncle Carl Jester, nephew Matt Jester, and numerous other relatives.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susie (Visina) Jester; his daughter, Kelly Geldmacher (husband Steve); grandson David Geldmacher; brother Steve Jester (wife Renee); aunt Linda Jester (husband Trip Niven); uncle Tad Robinson (wife Sherry), and many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3 from 3pm to 5pm. Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 4 at 1pm.
