Genoa Joyce Hanger

Genoa Hanger passed away at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma on March 22, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on October 24, 1939, in Geary, Oklahoma. Genoa was the daughter of W.J. "Cap" and Sophronia Kitson. She received her education at Geary and Hinton schools. Genoa dedicated herself to working alongside her husband in their businesses and was the owner of Western Systems. Her commitment to Christ began early in life at Geary First Assembly. She continued to be faithful throughout her life to her Lord. Genoa was a cherished member of Discovery Church, where she actively participated in various church activities, including serving as a Board Member. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Genoa in death were her brother, Karroll Kitson, and daughter, Debi Lewis.

Genoa leaves behind her husband, Fred "Bud" Hanger, and sisters, Wilma Puckett and Martha Mills. She is also survived by her daughter, Diana Biggs, and son-in-law, Chris Biggs. Genoa is also survived by her grandchildren: Jason, Dustin, and Derek Biggs; and Cody and Cayla Lewis; and her great grandchildren Rylan and Rose Biggs, Kailee and Josie Biggs, Hunter and Kailyn Lewis.

A memorial service honoring Genoa's life will take place at Discovery Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, on March 27 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Kevin Fouts, Dede Outlaw, and Cayla Lewis. Following the service, Genoa will be laid to rest at Frisco Cemetery in Yukon, Oklahoma.
