Gleynis Marie Edwards

Gleynis Marie Edwards, age 76, was born October 23, 1946 in Hutchinson, KS, to Linn and Nora Elgard, the youngest of three daughters. Gleynis graduated from Midwest City High School in the class of 1964. She received her Angel Wings and went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK.

In 1989 Gleynis and her husband Sam moved from Midwest City, OK to Mustang, OK. She took a position with the FAA in Oklahoma City as a Medical Records Examiner, retiring on October 29, 2010 after 20 ½ years of Federal Service. She had many hobbies including spending time with her horses and playing with her Chocolate Lab, Riley, with whom she was inseparable. She also enjoyed raising flowers and crocheting.

She is preceded in death by her father, Linn Elgard; mother, Nora Elgard, and sister, LaDonna Schultz.

Gleynis is survived by her husband, Samuel T. Edwards of the home in Mustang; son, James R. Edwards and wife Erica of Sequim, WA, and their children, Madison and Emma Edwards, Sequim, WA, Taylor and wife Dena Edwards of Houston, TX, Amanda and husband Mike, and their children Jude and Nora Harper, all of Baytown, TX, and Elizabeth Edwards of League City, TX; daughter, Jennifer L. Wright and husband Shawn of Weatherford, OK, and their children, Zac Wright and wife Brittany and their children, Klay and Adelynn of Yukon, OK, Emily Lawrence and husband Colton of Fairview, OK, Luke Wright of Fairview, OK, and Lance Wright and wife Zoe of Weatherford, OK, and sister, Linda Mahoney of Midwest City, OK, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Yukon, OK, with interment following at 2:00 p.m., at Arlington Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK.
