Gloria Ann Cole

Gloria Ann Cole, 94, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away at her home July 27, 2026.

Gloria was born on December 4, 1931, in Durant, Oklahoma to James Franklin Chambers and Edna Bell Burgess Chambers. Gloria was the fourth child of nine siblings. She is survived by her sister Edna Frances.

She married Jimmie Lee Blackburn June 9, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, they had three children Michael, Duane and Susan. She is survived by Michael and Susan, three grandchildren Jessica Determan, Lisa Mahuran, Matthew Blackburn and four great grandchildren.

Gloria married William Cole on July 20th, 1999, and enjoyed being welcomed by his five children and many grandchildren. William passed August 27, 2005.

She had a passion for sewing and was an accomplished seamstress.

She loved to garden and completed her Master Gardner Certification from OSU in 1988.

Gloria was an avid reader and seeker of truth. She was a member of Religious Science Church for many years and later a member of Unity Church.

She also loved to travel and traveled with her husband Jimmie and later made many trips to Hawaii with her close friend Bob Williams.

The last few years were spent with her friend Joseph Wilson. He was a great help to her, and she amusingly referred to him as St. Joseph as she had been in St. Joseph Catholic Orphanage as a child, prior to the orphanage she lived in Wilson, Oklahoma.

The Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 21st, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at Unity Spiritual Life Center, 5603 NW 41 St., Warr Acres, Oklahoma 73122, with Rev. Patrick McAndrew officiating.
