Harold "Bud" Edward Fuchs, Jr

Harold "Bud" Edward Fuchs, Jr. passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 on Oklahoma City, OK.  He was born August 19, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to parents Harold Edward and Virginia Ann. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Grade School and Bishop DuBourg Catholic High School, where he was later inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame.  He then first attended Quincy College on a basketball scholarship then transferred to St. Louis University after an injury.  He graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He made lifelong friends at both schools.

In his senior year, he married Margaret "Maggie" Mary Walsh of Shawnee, OK.  Bud began a sales career that was a joy to him.  He traveled the country selling textbooks on college campuses around the country.  He regarded the Oklahoma schools as "his" schools and held many other schools as part of his territory at various times.  In 1965 the couple moved to Yukon, OK, where they continue to reside.

Travel filled the rest of his life and he was very proud of the fact that he and his wife took both of their children to all 49 of the 50 states that were land locked.  Brian Craig and Bridget Anne learned much more than geography on these family travels.  Bud also became an avid whitewater enthusiast, spending many weekends paddling the rivers of northwestern Arkansas.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maggie; his son Brian, Brian's wife Kris and granddaughters Rowan and Erin, of Vienna, VA; his daughter Bridget Patterson, of Yukon, OK; his granddaughter Madeline Patterson of Denver, CO. Bud is also survived by his brothers Bob Fuchs of San Jose, CA; Dick Fuchs of Tarzana, CA; and Tom Fuchs of Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Viewing and visitation hours are 11am to 7pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:30am at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Yukon, OK.
