Harris Allen Wade

Harris "Allen" Wade, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, in El Reno, Oklahoma, at the age of 90.  He was born on November 5, 1934, in Wilburton, Oklahoma, to the late Esaw Harris and Gertha Laverne (Windsor) Wade.

Allen grew up in Sardis, OK, alongside his older sister, Sylvia.  Following high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

After his military service, Allen settled in Oklahoma City and began working as a truck driver for Albright Steel & Wire. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to start and operate his own business.

Not long after returning from overseas, Allen met Lorene Harrison. They shared nearly forty years together and married in 1999, shortly before her passing. He later married Karon "Sue" Adkisson, with whom he spent 17 loving years until her death in 2018.

Allen had a lifelong passion for horses, a love he shared with his father as they bred, raced, and sold horses over the years. He also enjoyed traveling, with Red River, New Mexico being among his favorite places.  Allen appreciated western art and turquoise jewelry and gathered both during his adventures. He was also a loyal fan of OU football.

Allen will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and generous nature. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet dignity that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Mt. View Cemetery, Mt. View, OK.
