Harvey Douglas Norris

Harvey Douglas Norris, age 73, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Harvey was born on April 13, 1951, in Fillmore, OK. He was raised as one of nine children in the Tishomingo area. Harvey graduated from Milburn High School in 1969. After graduation, he went on to join the army in 1970, and served in Germany as a Medical Corpsman. This dedication to service resulted in a National Defense Service Medal for sharpshooting. After Harvey's time in the Army, he attended Murray State College in 1976. He majored in Physical Education, ultimately receiving an associate degree in science. Harvey worked as a sr. operations manager for over 32 years at Hogan Property Company up until his death.

In his free time, he enjoyed tennis, shooting pool, and music. Harvey could play any instrument but preferred his beloved bass guitars. He was even a member of the popular band, "Washita", for ten years. Harvey was also a survivor of the Oklahoma City bombing, with his name appearing on the wall of 600 survivors. Being a man of faith, he loved his Lord Jesus. Harvey also had a deep love for his family tree. He always said in his Godfather voice, "Family just isn't everything, it's the only thing." Harvey was one tough guy, but he'd do anything for anybody.

Harvey was preceded in death by parents Aubrey Norris and Edith Reinhart; brother Dale Norris; sisters Sue McCracken and Betty Reindel; and Hermes, his beloved dog of 17 years. He is survived by the love of his life Gina Norris (married for 28 years, together for 34); stepson Christopher Holt and wife Mandy; grandchildren Madeline Holt, Benjamin Holt, Nate Burks, and Nick Burks; mother-in-law Fran A. Rickey; siblings Gene Cripps, Larry Cripps, Laura Hamilton, Johnny Reinhart, Brenda Birdsong; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
