Helen Lucy Garcia

Helen Garcia, born on January 6, 1934, to Joe and Lucilla (Martinez) Gonzales, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and compassion. She dedicated many years of her life to serving the community, working at Snyders IGA, and later concluded her career at Spanish Cove Retirement Community in Yukon. After retiring, she embraced her newfound freedom. Her warmth and kindness made a lasting impression on all who knew her. A devoted member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church Yukon, OK, Helen's faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joe and Lucilla Gonzales, and her siblings: Dorthy Jimenez, Max Gonzales, Sammy Gonzales, Virginia Gonzales, Bernice Martinez, James Gonzales, Corine Sisneros, and Victor Gonzales. Helen also mourned the loss of her daughter, Gloria Russell and sons-in-law, Steve Loper, Donald Bevill,  and her daughter's father Marcos 'Eloy' Garcia.

Helen is survived by her sister, Mary Garcia, and her six loving daughters: Dianna Loper, Katherine Garcia, Martha Pieper and Bruce, Georgia Thorp and Craig, Evelyn Bevill, and Yvonne Garcia; Son-in-Law, Larry Russell, and her grandchildren: Rachael Rickard, Tanner Russell, Eric Loper, Justin Thorp, Jamie Stovall, Maniqua Lewis, Brandon Kimmel, McKenzie Pieper, and Austin Bevill. Helen also leaves behind fifteen (15) great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love.

Helen's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to ACG Hospice of OKC, or to St. John Nepomuk Altar Society, Yukon, OK.

A vigil will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma. A rosary will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at the same location. Interment will follow at the Yukon Cemetery.
