Helen Lorene Swinney

Helen Lorene Swinney was born July 27, 1929 in Dialville, TX to the late Charles Elvin and Nobie Jane (Tyo) Brooks. She passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

A homemaker, she had a passion for gardening, quilting, and people, with a great love for family. Helen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Eufaula, OK and attended Yukon Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Swinney, Jr.; son, Jimmy Swinney; son, Mitchel Hilburn; daughter, Rhonda Stone Hilburn; granddaughter, Nickey Dawn Hilburn; grandson, Kenneth Jay Hilburn, and sisters, Charlene Odom and Claudine Stilman.

Helen is survived by her son, Kenneth Hilburn and wife Jan of Yukon; sisters: Etta Reed, Freda Wallace and June Chulufas; brother, Atha Brooks and wife Marcie; sister-in-law, Margie Sisk; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hilburn; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.
