Henry Odis Thiems

Henry Odis Thiems, 88, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born on February 29, 1936, Henry was known for his soft-spoken demeanor and sharp wit, traits that endeared him to many. Henry graduated from Kingfisher High School and launched a commendable career starting at Aero Commander, before moving on to Roadway Trucking. He eventually retired from Yellow Freight as an office manager after 30 years of dedicated service. His leadership and mediation skills earned him respect among the Teamsters and his fellow office co-workers.

Throughout his life, Henry was deeply committed to his family and his faith. He was a devoted member of the Westside Christian Church. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Shofner; son-in-law, John Shofner; granddaughter, Emily Antuna; brother, Oscar Thiems; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Wanda Thiems; his parents, Henry W. and Rosella Thiems; his brothers, Charlie, John, Leslie, and Earl Thiems; and his sisters, Gertrude Hansberry, Ruby Hill, and Opal Leech.

Henry's viewing will take place on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Kingfisher Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
