Howard Raymond Vestal, Jr.

Howard Raymond Vestal Jr., 74, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on January 10, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on November 1, 1949, in Albia, Iowa. Howard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He peacefully passed surrounded by family and loved ones.

Howard proudly served his country in the US Navy, and his military associations were a source of great pride for him. After his honorable service, he dedicated himself to a successful career in the oilfield industry. Howard was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession.

Outside of his work, Howard found joy in his hobbies, particularly fishing. He cherished the moments spent on the water, casting his line and enjoying the tranquility of nature. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his loving family. Howard's warm and caring nature made him a pillar of support and a source of love for his children and grandchildren.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Diana Francis Vestal, his father, Howard Raymond Vestal Sr., his mother, Bessie Marie Vestal, his siblings Hazel Johnson, Della Wallace, Betty Joe Wallace, Delbert Vestal, and William "Bill" Vestal, and his daughter, Elizabeth Deanna Ramos Chadwick.

He is survived by his brother Raymond Vestal and wife Marlene Vestal, daughters LaDonna Owen, husband Jason Owens, Lupita Smith and family, LeVonna Corley and family, Anetta Ramos and family, LaDeana Vestal and Family, grandson Preston Gomez, wife Tara Gomez and family, including many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, Oklahoma, with graveside services following at 2 p.m., at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK, honoring Howard's dedicated service to his country. A viewing will take place on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 12-7 p.m. at the funeral home, providing an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects.
